The Spring 2022 World Online Piping & Drumming Championships Are Now Open, Including New Grand Champion Title
Seattle, Wash., February 7, 2022. BagpipeLessons.com is happy to announce upcoming dates for their Spring online piping and drumming competition of 2022, with Summer and Fall competitions to follow. Providing rigorous, top-level judging, an inspiring competitive environment and a fun and motivating overall experience, BagpipeLessons.com’s competition is the largest and top-ranked online piping competition available. New this year is a multi-competition title, the BagpipeLessons.com 2022 World Online Piping & Drumming Championships Grand Champion, which will be given to the top piper or drummer in each category with most points overall throughout all three seasons. Piping Duets are also returning as an event, where two pipers of any level are invited to play a tune or medley of choice together. This season will once again include a scholarship opportunity for pipers 18 and under, the Colin MacKenzie Memorial Piobaireachd Challenge. This scholarship award of $250 will be given to a piper of any non-pro/open grade level showing great promise and potential in their Piobaireachd performance in order to further their piping education.
Introduced in 2011, the World Online Piping & Drumming Championships cultivates a growing global piping and drumming community and provides the valuable experience of competition for everyone from accomplished competitive professionals to beginners and those not yet involved in a piping association or pipe band community. This style of competition promotes better musicianship for both regular performers and for those who may rarely have the chance to measure their skills against others in a broader setting. The World Online Piping & Drumming Championships is the only online competition to offer total public access to the complete results, including every competitor’s video, placement and judge’s comments. This distinctive judging commentary and wide offering of event choices (80+) have allowed the World Online Piping & Drumming Championships to thrive in the online piping and drumming realm.
