Replacement Humidity Control Packets for Tone Protector

From: $15.00

The Tone Protector uses pre-calibrated two-way humidity control packets to achieve a precisely controlled, constant moisture content in your reeds for ultimate consistency, stability, performance and improved overall sound.

You’ll know it’s time to replace your packet when you see on the digital hygrometer/thermometer that the humidity level isn’t where it should be. How long this takes depends on the humidity level where you live and how much you play the reed. With typical use, the humidity control packets last between months to years. The following recommended humidity levels are for all pipers in every climate condition. These humidity levels are based on thousands of hours of testing and are for optimal results from your cane reeds, regardless of where you live in the world.

For best results, every Tone Protector product uses TWO packets at a time. Please choose from the following:

84% Humidity Level — recommended for Tone Protector™ Chanter Cap or Drones or Reed Safe
75% Humidity Level — recommended for Tone Protector™ Reed Case

Humidity packets come in Packs of 10 or 100.

Decide how many humidity packets you want, then use the drop down menu to select Packs of 10 or 100. Next, select the number of Packs that you want in the box below (default is 1). For example, if you want 30 humidity packets total, select 10 from the drop down menu and then type 3 in the box below.

Description

The Tone Protector uses pre-calibrated two-way humidity control packets by Boveda to achieve a precisely controlled, constant moisture content in your reeds for ultimate consistency, stability, performance and improved overall sound.

With typical use, the humidity control packets last between months to years. Eventually the humidity control packets will dry out. You’ll know when you see on the digital hygrometer/thermometer that the humidity level isn’t where it should be. How long this takes depends on the humidity level where you live and how much you play the reed. The two way humidity control technology means the packet will release water OR absorb water as needed to maintain a precisely controlled humidity level. Drier ambient air will make the packet dry out faster. Playing more often puts moisture into the reed and thus the packet won’t be depleted.
